Brief Introduction

The Lung Meridian is one of the twelve regular meridians, one of the three Yin meridians of the hand. It is interior-exteriorly related to the Large Intestine Meridian of Hand-Yangming. Superiorly, it connects to the Liver Meridian of Foot-Jueyin inside the lung; inferiorly, it connects to the Large Intestine Meridian of Hand-Yangming at the index finger. The meridian runs over the chest, the anterior aspect of the medial upper limb, and the radial side of the thumb. Its terminal branches and divergent meridians connect internally and externally, while the sinew meridian runs externally. The first point of this meridian is Zhongfu (LU1), the last point is Shaoshang (LU11), with 11 points on each side. It governs Qi and respiration, and is mainly indicated for lung system disorders and conditions along its pathway.
