Brief Introduction   

The Gallbladder Meridian is one of the twelve regular meridians, one of the three Yang meridians of the foot. Superiorly, it connects to the Triple Energizer Meridian of Hand-Shaoyang at the outer canthus; inferiorly, it meets the Liver Meridian of Foot-Jueyin at the lateral end of the big toe. The meridian runs over the head and face, shoulder and neck, hypochondrium, lateral aspect of the thigh, and foot, connecting to the Gallbladder, Liver, eyes, and ears. The first point is Tongziliao (GB1), the last point is Zuqiaoyin (GB44), with 44 points on each side. It stores and excretes bile and governs decision-making. It mainly treats disorders of the head, face, eyes, ears, nose, and throat, hepatobiliary diseases, febrile diseases, and conditions along the meridian pathway.

1.   Tongziliao (GB1) – meeting point of the Small Intestine, Hand and Foot Shaoyang Meridians – headache, eye disorders, red and swollen eyes, photophobia with lacrimation, corneal opacity

2.   Tinghui (GB2) – tinnitus, deafness, otorrhea, toothache, facial pain, facial paralysis

3.   Shangguan (GB3) – tinnitus, deafness, otorrhea, toothache, facial pain, facial paralysis, trismus, manic-depressive epilepsy

4.   Hanyan (GB4) – migraine, dizziness, convulsive epilepsy, tinnitus, outer canthus pain, toothache

5.   Xuanlu (GB5) – migraine, red and swollen eyes, toothache, epistaxis

6.   Xuanli (GB6) – meeting point of the Hand and Foot Shaoyang and Yangming Meridians – migraine, red and swollen eyes, tinnitus

7.   Qubin (GB7) – meeting point of the Foot Taiyang and Shaoyang Meridians – headache radiating to the teeth, cheek and jaw swelling, trismus
